Breaking News: Harriet Harman wins hearts and minds of Scots for election – SINGLE HANDED!!

Harriet Harman rebuked for calling minister ‘a ginger rodent’

Harriet Harman has been rebuked for calling a senior member of the government “a ginger rodent”.

Telegraph

With elections in Scotland coming up fairly soon… it is good to see Harriet Harman QC at her best…. supporting the bullying of *Gingers* and, at the same time, ridiculing Scotland  (Some Scots have Red hair – and the classic pastiche *Jock* hat & wig is modelled above – I am dark brown with a bit of grey at temples!)  by calling Scots Lib-Dem MP Danny Alexander  a *Ginger Rodent*… What is more baffling… she made this speech, I am advised, in SCOTLAND! Oh Dear!

I wonder how the Scots Labour MPs will react to this – let alone Big Eck.  Not her finest hour…. ridiculous!

Leave the humour to the political cartoonist, Luv… political comedian you may be, Harriet… professional comedian … you ain’t!

There is, of course, a degree or irony ….or even extreme ironing… about the possibility that Harriet Harman QC MP *possibly* is not really acting in the spirit of  the very legislation she pushed through Parliament… anyone offended by her *joke* in the workplace?

Equalities Act

In the interest of political balance – given my post on Chancellor Osbore below…. I should really draw your attention to this from The Mail today.  Obviously… I had to modify the screen grab.   I just can’t help myself sometimes.

  1. Harman is a standing rebuttal to one of my favourite curmudgeonly gurns – the fact that every QC is invariably styled “top” in the media, and therefore enjoys characterisation as some virtuous Ciceronian (or in his case, Portiaesque) demi-god. Where, pray, are the “bottom” QCs? Or those Counsel of Her Majesty who are only moderately learned – who ought to be characterised as simply “middling” – or as we say up in Scotland – “no bad”?

In terms of her gibe, alas, no identity politics for me. While I did find a single gingery hair in my face furniture once, but I don’t think that entitles me to fulminate at full froth…

  2. Steve – it is bizarre…… totally bizarre… I am a Scot… with dark hair….avec a touch of grey at temples, these days.

For a woman who prides herself on equalities and sensitive to t *gender, race and other ‘issues’* – it is astonishing.

Thankfully… I suspect that my fellow Scots will just laugh and mock… I do hope so!

I can’t comment because, as I make very clear in my *About section*…. I got pissed one night and awarded it to myself.

I suspect the *Bottom QCs* are wondering why they applied in these dark days… as some of them are not getting a lot of work… I am advised.

I would, however, when I finally explode in a crematorium… like to think I would be described as *Top Toper* by the *MEEDJA* or Legal Week and The Lawyer…at least
    :-)

  4. … and this comment was from the promoter of the Equality Act. Why should a “ginger” rodent be dealt with in such a directly discriminatory way as opposed to any other type of rodent? Treat all rodents the same way would be best.

  5. Obiter J – I am genuinely baffled by her statement….. surprised as well.

Parody from parodists/bloggers/tweeters etc etc – HIGNFY / Mock The Week et al – is fine: Par for the course… but a senior and experienced politician? Bizarre.

  6. ‘I would, however, when I finally explode in a crematorium… like to think I would be described as *Top Toper* by the *MEEDJA* or Legal Week and The Lawyer…at least’

    It’s a certainty! ;)

As for Harperson – she came across as a desperate harridan. Which is *not* a good look.
